Memphis is known for many great things like Graceland, Beale Street, the blues, and OF COURSE BBQ!!! The folks over at Blues City Café, famous for its music and its Q, would love this awesome dry rub because it has that quintessential Memphis flavor. Strong hints of paprika, garlic and onion on the front end and a very mild spice on the back makes this rub a true Memphis staple.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup paprika
- 1/4 cup garlic
- 1/4 cup chili powder
- 3 tablespoons kosher salt
- 3 tablespoons ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons onion powder
- 2 tablespoons celery seed
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
- 1 tablespoon cumin
- 2 teaspoons dry yellow mustard
- 2 teaspoons coriander
- 2 teaspoons allspice
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and whisk until fully incorporated. The rub will be ready for use immediately or it can be stored, in an air tight container, for up to one year.
